3-16-22 – 3-30-22 -After a nice 2 week vacation ( we flew up to New Hampshire (Exeter) to surprise my brother in law on his Birthday. Flew in the day before. Rented a nice Camry in Manchester. Then drove down to stay in NYC in The Millennium hotel. Stayed there for 2 days, drove to Washington DC and stayed there for 2 1/2 days (saw the Cherry Blossoms), drove to Fayetteville NC to pay my Uncle Jim a visit. Stayed there for 2 1/2 days. Drove to Savannah and stayed in Historic Downtown for 2 1/2 days, then drove home.
Great vacation. Haven’t done that since 2015 when we went to California for our 30th anniversary
4-6-22 So I am back! Started the slider install before vacation and finished installing the sliders. Started building my speaker boxes. Coming along nicely.
4-09-22 – Took the Suburban out on the streets for the first time. Just went to the far end of the neighborhood, went out and came back in at the other end. Drove nice. Had a slight rattle on the left side I need to figure out.
I can’t really drive it legally since I don’t have a tag on it yet. I have an appointment Tuesday to finally go in and get it.
4-12-22 Finally got my tag. I went with the personalized tag I had on my Montego GT and my 1966 C10
3 frame-off restos and 2 frame-on restos in 12 years!!!
At the tag office in Largo
4-15-22
Got my speaker boxes all done.
Mike’s Upholstery (formerly Ron’s Upholstery) on 62nd Ave did an excellent job at covering. I’ve used Mike before.
Fast service to
I added cupholders, speaker wire terminals along with 6×6 Audison 6×9 speakers
4-16-22
Also got my AC/Heater unit installed under the dash. I had to relocate the ignition coil and modify the bracket and plate I made for the Hyperspark ignition box. Worked out good. Sure won’t have much for a glovebox though.
First drive to mom and dad’s house in Seminole. It’s been a long time coming.
4-26-22
First drive to work. Went home about noon and picked up the truck.
